Getting traffic to your website is a considerable concern for most businesses large and small. Increasing this traffic will help build your brand and can increase sales for sure. Driving traffic to your business, content, or your website for free is an option for everyone that will put in the time and effort. There are so many free ways to explore in order to send people to your website as we talk about how to drive traffic to your website.

How To Drive Traffic To Your Website

First, let’s talk about what Traffic is and what we mean when we say Drive Traffic. It essentially means the movement of something (in this case prospects or customers) along a path towards something. Not unlike traffic on a road going from one place to another.

Think about it, what drives you when you are on the auto road? You leave your home and drive to your destination. For what? Some sort of reward. Food, entertainment, job/money, education, just to name a few.

Think of this when you are trying to “drive” someone (traffic) from their location to your location. Why would someone want to come to your site? It’s gonna need to be something good right? Or why would they bother to move from where they are?

3 Ways To Drive Traffic To Your Website

  1. Freebies. This is an awesome way to get people to come to your website. Offer them something for free. Something that is appealing to them. Something that gives them value by providing them something like we talked about above. It could be a checklist to get their job done faster. It could be entertainment — maybe the first chapter of your new book. You see where I’m going here?
  2. Discounts. These work great as well. Sign up for deals on Wednesday nights at the local restaurant. Or buy 3 blog articles get one free when you sign up.
  3. White Papers. I can’t say I love the description for this marketing piece. Think of it like a guide or in-depth report. Something written about your industry that can help your prospects to make their life or job better. Technically this is also a freebie.

How To Drive Traffic To Your Website
Now that you have your enticing items above, how do you use them to drive your prospecting traffic to your website?

  1. Build a lead page with a signup form on it. Once your customer or prospect signs up they will be directed to another page that will allow them to download your freebie or coupons.
  2. Get them to the lead page by talking about it on social media or through an email. Do not constantly blast out this message about what you have to offer by signing up. Just mention it once in a while. Maybe you can tie it into another bit of content you are talking about. Or “It’s Friday Freebie Day”.
  3. Networking. At events or meetings… “I actually have this resource you might find helpful…”

Do you have this process in place to drive traffic to your website?
